Nutrition therapy employs the supportive and healing powers of real food nutrients (vitamins, minerals, healthy fats, proteins, and appropriate carbohydrates) from whole food, to meet the body’s needs for proper function. The right nutrition supplies critical building blocks for cellular growth and repair and will naturally reduce inflammation and slow harmful reactions. Complex digestive, detoxification, cellular messaging, and immune processes demand usable fats and a host of vitamins, minerals, enzymes, and amino acids.
Your interest in taking a close look at the food with which you fuel your body is the critical first step. In our work together for your better health, we initially consider your current symptoms, full medical history, family and relational issues (stressors that you are facing), and your personal preferences and defaults with food. The process is thorough because it is holistic. For lasting benefits to occur, we work at not only body, but mind, and spirit — what feeds your joy in life. It can be a very empowering experience to re-frame your relationship with food — not out of a sense of guilt, but from a desire to perpetuate your best energy and a preventive mindset.
Our steps following this initial intake will move us forward successfully because the strategies we employ are designed especially for YOU and the workings of your unique body!
STEP 1: Commit to an Initial Intake Session with your payment via the Consultations page.
STEP 2: I send you the documents you’ll need to prepare for our first 90-minute meeting. When you return those to me, we schedule the Intake session. If you have any blood work/labs from the past 6 months, I take those into account along with your notes about symptoms and food patterns.
STEP 3: We meet in person, unless you live more than 25 miles from my office, or you prefer to meet remotely. In that case, we can meet via video chat. At this Initial Intake session, we team up to finalize your personal history and goals. We consider my prepared analysis of your food journal, and set first strategic steps to provide a foundation for individualized nutrition therapy.
STEP 4: Set follow-up session/s to get you moving comfortably into a nutritional routine that will actively support your personal goals! Follow-up sessions are ideal in person or via video chat, but we can consider phone meetings if necessary.
Rest assured that you can reach out before any official commitment. I provide a complimentary 15-minute phone meeting to help us discern a good “fit” with your Nutrition Ally. Feel free to send a note via the “Contact” page.
