Terry earned her Master Nutrition Therapist diploma from the Nutrition Therapy Institute in Arvada, Colorado. This involved 588 contact hours of coursework in Biochemistry, Anatomy and Physiology, Reproductive Health, Nutrients, Food Quality, Weight Management, Digestion and Detoxification, Life Cycles & Healthy Aging, Supplements, and Clinical Nutrition. NTI is approved and regulated as a private occupational institution by the Colorado Department of Higher Education.
Client work has focused on goals of managing weight; balancing mood; balancing hormonal symptoms (including bloating, depression, fibroids); decreasing diabetic symptoms; improving skin health, digestive distress, concentration (reducing brain fog); and recommendations specific to concerning blood work and lab numbers. A recent course in Nutrition for Mental Health solidifies Terry’s goal to enhance the gut-brain connection and benefit the HPA (Hypothalamus-Pituitary-Adrenal) axis in cases of anxiety, depression and other mental/emotional issues. Terry creates nutrition plans to proactively reduce inflammation, which then helps to lessen a symptoms contributing to chronic disease.
Internship: Food support and elimination of allergens to benefit children’s behavior and cognitive function.
Professional Research: How whole-food nutrition can improve the body’s ability to detoxify from exposure to higher-than-average levels of certain airborne pollutants from fossil fuel extraction activities. Focus on nutritive support for the liver specific to toxic airborne chemicals.
