My practice exists to help you find your best health through holistic nutrition. So often, conventional medical advice misses the key aspect of nutrition as a foundation of our well-being. Healthy food gives our cells the tools they need to function at their best. I commit to providing in-depth investigation on behalf of your health, typically using your body’s signs and symptoms, along with lab results you may already have on hand.
I am a seasoned information-seeker turned Nutritional Therapist. A long career in bringing life to my own ideas and honing other people’s – in writing and editing – has placed me in this moment, where energized health and defense against disease now claim center focus. My passion for research and advocacy calls me to dig under what may be a tiny sprout of information offered by a conventional health care provider to expose the roots of what feeds it from below. I aim for the “why” and work with you to provide the “how” for addressing your minor or chronic health issues with the medicinal properties of clean, whole foods.
When you work with me, you get a personalized researcher who dives deep into your specific issues: I devote hours ahead of our meetings to analyze your food patterns, review your lab work, and begin to formulate our strategy to establish tailored whole-food support to relieve biochemical challenges and regain balance. An exciting result is that weight management and better sleep tend to follow naturally!
A cancer diagnosis in 2013 propelled me into this field. I had always been curious about nutrition science, and learning that holistic, science-based training was available, I signed on to explore a path that would balance me: body and mind. It was imperative that the route I chose “did no harm” — I’m not okay with harsh strategies that can lay waste the immune system. My journey continues as the science keeps expanding, but from where I currently stand, I can confidently tell you that a return to balance is possible! And yes, I am very well, thank you!
Real food feeds the workings of our human bodies in fascinating ways. I invite you to meet with me to learn how your unique health challenges can benefit from nutrient revision. If you are taking prescription medications, we factor those in. It’s great, but not critical, to have the support of your primary care provider as you bring this layer to your self-care. Together, you and I begin with simple, whole foods. Excellent supplementation may factor — either for a short term, especially to support you through an acute phase or to rebuild a deficiency — or long term, to provide key nutrition that most of us just cannot get without a little help. Either way, we start with the unique needs your body is demonstrating.
